Bill Sweeney

Founder & Principal

Bill is a senior business development and investor relations leader with over 20 years of experience in institutional asset management. He spent nearly 15 years at Bridgewater Associates, culminating in leadership of the U.S. advisory business as Head of U.S. Advisory & Public Pensions, with geographic coverage spanning the U.S., Canada, the Middle East, and Asia.

At Bridgewater, Bill served as a senior interface between the firm and LPs on performance, risk, capacity, liquidity, and transparency. He partnered with senior decision-makers on structure and portfolio construction, and was a published research contributor to Bridgewater's Daily Observations on portfolio construction and institutional decision-making.

Bill founded Plinian Strategies to advise investment firms and ventures at critical growth inflection points -helping managers transition to institutional fundraising, build investor relations infrastructure, and engage strategically with the LP community. He holds Series 3, 63, 65, 79, and 82 licenses, and is an alumnus of Colgate University and Columbia Business School.
